Zacch Adelabu Adedeji

I am Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, born on January 8, 1978. As a Nigerian accountant and tax administrator, I have dedicated my career to advancing corporate taxation and public finance development. My tenure as the Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State from 2011 to 2015 allowed me to implement key financial reforms.

Currently, I serve as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), a role I was appointed to in 2023 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. My educational journey includes earning a Ph.D. in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University and completing an Executive Course in Economic Development at the Harvard Kennedy School.

I currently serve as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), where I oversee the assessment, collection, and accounting for taxes accruing to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

During my tenure from June 2011 to May 2015, I implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA), which significantly streamlined government revenues and expenditures, enhancing financial efficiency and transparency.

I hold a Ph.D. in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, a Master of Science in Accounting from the same institution, a Bachelor of Science in Management & Accounting with First Class honors, and a National Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Ede. Additionally, I completed an Executive Course in Economic Development at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

I spent a decade at Procter and Gamble (P&G) in various roles, including Corporate Finance Manager (West Africa) and Finance Leader for the SAP Implementation Project, where I managed financial operations and led key projects to improve financial systems.

As the Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) from 2017 to 2021, I established the Nigeria Sugar Institute and expanded the Sugar Backward Integration Program to boost local sugar production and industry standards.

I bring extensive skills in financial management, tax administration, strategic advisory, leadership, economic development, project management, and communication. These skills are instrumental in enhancing tax compliance, revenue generation, and overall financial governance.
